JOYCE CHONG

Art, photography, design and fashion have been central to my life and career so far and all four disciplines have provided an outlet for my creativity. Since completing my degree in Fashion Design I have worked independently on numerous creative projects, including designing a collection that was showcased at Durham University’s fashion show, setting up my own website and business designing tote bags and conducting photoshoots to showcase some of my designs. Professionally, I have spent time living in Berlin working for street-style sustainable brand Fuenf, and I currently work as an assistant for a photography company organising photoshoots.

In 2020 one of my collections was selected by cultural hub, itsliquid, to feature in its Venice exhibition. My work has also appeared in the March 2021 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and on photographer Nick Knight’s pioneering fashion showcase site, SHOWstudio in 2020.

During my career so far, I have learnt how to be a lateral thinker who works well in a team, as well as being strongly self-motivated. My passion is sustainability and I have created collections based on ethical clothing alongside concepts that look at how fashion can aid good mental health. I’m keen to work in a creative, team-based environment that promotes good social values, including environmental awareness.
